Great Lakes Baroque and Florentine Opera collaborated to present Claudio Monteverdi’s 1643 operatic masterpiece L’incoronazione di Poppea, with a superb cast conducted by Jory Vinikour.

15 June 2018: Great Lakes Baroque brewed fun with an all-Bach program

Great Lakes Baroque presents an All-Bach Program in Milwaukee’s Cabot Theatre, 15 June 2018 — TWO PERFORMANCES!

Great Lakes Baroque founders and internationally-renowned harpsichordists Jory Vinikour and Philippe LeRoy and The Great Lakes Baroque Ensemble were joined by soprano Kristin Knutson, tenor Scott Brunscheen, bass Ryan de Ryke, violinist Allison Nyquist, and flautist Leela Breithaupt in two performances of an all-Bach program including Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 (BWV 1050), Concerto for two harpsichords in C major (BWV 1061), the cantata ‘Non sa che sia dolore’ (BWV 209), and ‘Schweight stille, plaudert nicht’ (BWV 211), the effervescent ‘Coffee Cantata.’

13 October 2017: Music for the Last Queen

Great Lakes Baroque presents MUSIC FOR THE LAST QUEEN - Friday, 13 October 2017

Acclaimed violinist Allison Edberg Nyquist and cellist Paul Dwyer joined keyboard virtuoso and Great Lakes Baroque co-founder Philippe LeRoy in Music for the Last Queen, a delightful programme featuring music by French composers active in the last quarter of the Eighteenth Century. Composers whose music will be performed include Jean-Jacques Beauvarlet-Charpentier, Armand-Louis Couperin, Jean-Baptiste Janson, Amédée Rasetti, Nicolas Séjan, and Simon Simon.

Great Lakes Baroque presents mezzo-soprano SUZANNE LOMMLER

In recent seasons, brilliant young mezzo-soprano Suzanne Lommler has garnered rave reviews for her performances with Chicago's Haymarket Opera Company. With Jory Vinikour on harpsichord and fortepiano and Paul Dwyer on Baroque cello, Suzanne performed music by Georg Friedrich Händel, Franz Joseph Haydn, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

13 September 2015: Io vidi in terra

Presenting a programme of Italian songs and duets from the Seventeenth Century, Io vidi in terra brought internationally-renowned soloists mezzo-soprano Céline Ricci and countertenor José Lemos together with Deborah Fox on theorbo and Baroque guitar, Baroque cellist Craig Trompeter, and harpsichordist Jory Vinikour. The music of Claudio Monteverdi, Marco da Gagliano, Barbara Strozzi, Tarquinio Merula, Agostino Steffani, and other composers resounded in Great Lakes Baroque's first concert.
